Testing and Monitoring

Our team performs two types of tests: soil tests and structural tests. Such tests may be required prior to the design of new structures or the evaluation or strengthening of existing structures.

We often perform tests on structures during the execution of evaluation or seismic strengthening design projects. These can be tests of structural elements such as columns, beams, etc. or entire structures. When it is necessary to determine their dynamic properties, the entire structure can be tested, and this is often necessary for historical structures where many different types of materials are used for a single structural element. For such tests, we cooperate with national and international institutes specialized in this field.

A range of soil tests are available on our behalf by subcontractors. Our services include on-site and laboratory soil mechanics tests.

In addition to the tests described above, our team has experience in the installation and operation of structural health monitoring systems for suspension bridges over the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey.
Orient Research can provide its clients with a wide range of testing services including:
○ Concrete compression testing (laboratory)
○ Structural element exposure of reinforcement testing (in situ)
○ Structural Steel Non-Destructive testing (in situ)
○ Reinforcement identification via overburden meter testing (in situ)
○ Reinforcement bar/steel tensile testing (laboratory)
○ Monitoring systems for structures
